What size storage unit do I need?
The honest guide. Pick based on what you're actually storing, not the biggest number you can afford — and if you're between two sizes, size up.

How to guess right the first time
Count rooms, not boxes
A furnished room is roughly a 5×10 of space once it's packed. A one-bedroom apartment lands in a 10×10, a three-bedroom house in a 10×20. Boxes always take more room than you think; furniture takes less, because it stacks.
Think about access, not just volume
If you'll be coming back for things, leave a walkway. A packed-solid unit fits more but turns every visit into an excavation. That's usually worth one size up.
When in doubt, call and describe it
Tell us what you've got — "a two-bedroom apartment and a washer and dryer" is plenty — and we'll tell you which size fits, including when the smaller one is enough. (757) 465-9177.
